Royal College of Chiropractic Sport Sciences (Canada). Dr. Macdonald has completed a 3 year post-doctoral fellowship in sport sciences, making him one of only 5 chiropractic sport specialists in Alberta.


National Strength and Conditioning Association. Dr. Macdonald has completed additional post-graduate work to become a certified strength and conditioning specialist.


Researcher / Author
With the cooperation of the University of Calgary’s Human Performance Laboratory and a McGill University epidemiologist, Dr. Macdonald was co-author of the first study in the world to demonstrate a performance enhancing effect of chiropractic treatment on Olympic level athletes. The methods in this study were put to excellent use on the Canadian Bobsleigh and Skeleton teams at both the 2006 Winter Olympics in Torino, Italy and with various athletes at both the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Canadian Professional Motocross National Championship Series. He consults on the overall health and safety of professional motocross racers competing in Canada.

Annual International Motocross des Nations world championships.


Team Member
Asterisk Medical Team. Dr. Macdonald works as the only Canadian on this team of specialists to provide treatment to racers in select rounds of the World Supercross Series.


IMPACT Magazine and Racer X Illustrated. He has served as one of several health contributors to these leading health and racing magazines.


“Run Smarter” Seminar Series. Dr. Macdonald serves as host for this annual running seminar which shares all the newest peer-reviewed research from the world of running to Calgary’s burgeoning running community.


Mizuno. A competitive distance runner, Dr. Macdonald is able to test new product for these companies from the unique perspective of both a sport specialist and an athlete. He also serves as health consultant to Racer X Illustrated magazine and has sat on the medical advisory panel for World Health Club.
